All the Knight and Rogue books are delightful reads. I think they are meant for teens, but I read the first one well into adulthood and enjoyed every minute of the pairs predicaments. The fact the chapters alternate between the two main characters and we see the situations and actions of the other from both viewpoints adds a fun factor I haven't words for. I think what I love best about all the books is that there is nail biting suspense and parts that crack me up laughing -- and yes, often aloud because it's impossible not to. The personal struggles each face from their pasts give the books a deep dimension. If you can start the series with the first book, great, but each book can be read even if you haven't had a chance to read previous ones and stand alone well, though some of the nuances and reasons for some of the exchanges between the two main characters might wind up lost, but you'll still get it within the context of the book you're reading.Product details

This author should be seriously a lot better known.
I've followed this series for years now, and to reach the end is a bittersweet feeling. Thankfully, Bell wrapped up this fantastic series with a satisfying ending that both pulled at my heart-strings and left me content with the fates of the characters. It is a fantastic read for anyone who loves adventure, a touch of fantasy, and a complex mystery. The characters, who have notably developed into true heroes worth rooting for and loving, make this series wonderful, and there will never be a time when Michael and Fisk stray from my heart. I'm so pleased with this ending. My only regret? That I won't have another K&R novel to pine over. Oh well, no one can complain with a chill-raising last sentence such as the one Bell left us with. Who knows? Maybe one day we will have another book filled with adventure and good deeds?
Hilari Bell has brought her Knight and Rogue series to a delightful finish. I enjoyed the book very much. The book is able to stand alone, but I highly recommend anyone who hasn't read the rest of the series to go back to The Last Knight and read the entire story cycle. This series is a delight, building an interesting fantasy world, complete with a system of magic and "gifts". And some very real characters, especially the two Point of View characters, Michael and Fisk. I love Michael and Fisk, and watching their relationship grow and develop throughout the series has been wonderful. This book introduces some new characters, and has a lot of adventure, magic and true love! What's not to like?
I won't go into details about the plot as I want to avoid spoilers, but I feel certain that the "friends of Michael and Fisk" will be very happy with this book.
